Mount Peter, New York’s family mountain, has added a new team member. Justin Cooper joined the Mount Peter team as its Marketing and Sales Manager prior to the kick-off of its 2019-2020 season.
In his new role, Cooper will be overseeing all aspects of marketing for Mount Peter. With all-ages fun happening daily at Mount Peter, one of Cooper’s initial goals is to apply a strong background in social media, photography and videography to create content marketing that reflects the friendly, welcoming and exciting atmosphere Mount Peter has become known for over its 80-plus years. Just a week after Opening Weekend, Cooper has already begun bolstering Mount Peter’s social media presence, and there are all-new ways for visitors to share their own mountain stories in the works.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team at Mount Peter, which is so well-known for quality, family-oriented wintertime fun – not only in this community, but throughout the tri-state area,” said Cooper. “We’ve already opened a new learning trail – the Valley View – this year, and I’m excited to be developing a four-season event calendar that will allow Mount Peter’s reputation for warm hospitality to extend right into spring, summer and those incredible Hudson Valley autumns.”
Prior to joining Mount Peter, Cooper served for six years as the Marketing, Public Relations and Brand Manager for the Nysmith School for the Gifted, in Herndon, VA. He helped build and maintain the school’s public image through content marketing development, media relations and various multimedia channels, while also supporting recruitment and retention efforts. Cooper worked closely with school leadership, and was also a liaison between administration, staff and parents. Cooper graduated from Quinnipiac University (Hamden, CT), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production, with a minor in Business Management.
“We’re excited to welcome Justin to the Mount Peter family, and we want guests to look for him out there on the mountain, camera in hand, capturing all the fun,” said Amy Sampson-Cutler, Executive Manager of Mount Peter. “Justin’s here to help us provide even more of the excellent customer experiences our visitors expect. He’s a fantastic mountain ambassador!”
