Mount Peter’s 89th Season Opened Dec. 7 with Skiing, Riding and Tubing all Weekend!

New York’s Family Mountain in Warwick, N.Y., Offers New Snowmaking Capabilities, a New Lodge for the Tubing Area and New Dining Options in Pete’s Pub

WARWICK, N.Y. (Dec. 12, 2024) – Mount Peter is open for the 2024-2025 season, its 89th year of operations, and there are several new, fun reasons to visit New York’s Family Mountain for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and dining.

Mount Peter prides itself on continually investing and innovating to deliver exciting, safe fun for its winter enthusiasts. This year’s additions feature the new capability of all-weather snowmaking and a new lodge in the Tubing area and robust menu additions to Pete’s Pub implemented by a new executive chef.

“We’re filled with pride that Mount Peter is starting its 89th year of operations – and we’re also proud that we continually innovate and think big to give our skiers, snowboarders and tubers the very best in fun,” said Executive Manager Amy Sampson-Cutler. “We are excited to have our wonderful visitors experience our ability to manufacture snow in all types of weather in our tubing area and taste a wonderland of new food options in Pete’s Pub.”

Mount Peter’s tubing area now features the Latitude 90, a revolutionary all-weather snowmaking system that produces snow in temperatures above what traditional snowmaking equipment can.

The comfortable, new 40 feet x 50 feet Lodge in the tubing area features 1,500 square feet of event space. This beautiful amenity is a perfect spot for hosting group gatherings, birthday parties and other events – no matter the weather.

Take a tasty break from the slopes by visiting Pete’s Pub, where you’ll delight in scrumptious meals and treats prepared by new Executive Chef Kelli Scott. Enjoy the new menu, inspired by gastro-pub favorites, Thursdays through Sundays when the mountain is open. Savor traditional favorites and innovative treats that include soft pretzels, short-rib croquettes, beet salad and persimmon burrata, bison sliders, bao buns and New Orleans style shrimp and grits.

These improvements are the latest among several in recent years. A few years ago, Mount Peter expanded and redesigned its Snow Basin Learning Center – including a third carpet lift conveyer belt to the top of the beginner hill – to provide an even more enjoyable experience for guests learning to ski or ride. It also added a 5,000-square-foot rental shop, more than double the previous rental space. The Ski Center also introduced an online system that enables guests to plan a trip in advance and purchase tickets at www.mtpeter.com.

Winter outdoor enthusiasts of all levels are welcome. Mount Peter’s famous FREE beginner lessons are offered on weekends and holidays to introduce newcomers to the sport. Mount Peter also offers private and family lessons, including mid-week learn-to-ski and snowboard packages.

Guests are encouraged to check out Mount Peter’s online snow report. You can also call the Mount Peter Snow Phone at (845) 986-4992 to hear the latest trail openings and conditions.
